Gartner Positions Accenture as a Leader in Magic Quadrant Report for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Service Providers, Worldwide

NEW YORK; Mar. 14, 2017 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been recognized by independent analyst firm Gartner, Inc. as a Leader in public cloud infrastructure managed services. Accenture was placed furthest along the completeness of vision axis, which assesses market understanding, market strategy, sales strategy, offering (product) strategy, vertical/industry strategy, innovation, geographic strategy and business model.

The Gartner report titled “Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Service Providers, Worldwide” – published for the first time on 2 March 2017 – analyzed 20 vendors that offer managed services and professional services related to infrastructure and platform operations for one or more hyperscale integrated IaaS+PaaS providers.

“Helping our clients embrace cloud to become liquid, scalable and flexible real-time enterprises is the core of our Cloud First strategy. We believe being recognized as a leader for public cloud infrastructure managed services shows that our continued investments in this strategy are successful,” said Jack Sepple, senior managing director, Accenture Cloud and Accenture Operations group technology officer. “We help clients on their Journey to Cloud throughout the planning, migration and optimization phases of cloud transformation. Our managed services help clients continually optimize their cloud estate for maximum results.”

Among the customers that have tapped Accenture along the entirety of their journey to the cloud is Towergate, one of Europe’s largest independently owned insurance intermediaries. Accenture has been working with Towergate since last year on an IT infrastructure transformation project across its entire business, to address challenges created by legacy systems and lack of integration. Towergate is using Accenture’s industry-leading cloud service capabilities, including the Accenture Cloud Platform, to accelerate growth and enable front line staff competitiveness by migrating infrastructure and applications to the public cloud.

“By transforming to the cloud, we now have service-on-demand, as well as collaboration across all our businesses,” said Gordon Walters, CIO, Towergate. “We’re working with Accenture to give each business access to real-time information that allows them to understand what we as an organization are doing. In short, we’ve moved to a world where all of our employees are connected; we’re better able to serve our customers; and can turn our data into insight to help us to dominate our markets. ”
