Kriftel/Dallas, April 27, 2001 – eLSG.SkyChefs, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG, today announced they have selected Accenture to provide information technology support for their electronic business-to-business (B2B) portal. This Marketplace for in-flight services is being developed by eLSG.SkyChefs and several high-end technology companies to help manage catering, equipment management and procurement collaboration between airlines, caterers and service providers.
This is the third relationship announced by eLSG.SkyChefs in four months; others include a strategic alliance with Sabre and a partnership with i2 Technologies.
eLSG.SkyChefs will benefit from Accenture’s subject matter knowledge since they have been providing information technology services and software solution management services for the parent company LSG Sky Chefs for the past eight years in the United States. "The access to a highly skilled team from Accenture with deep supply chain technology skills and in-flight service industry knowledge make this relationship extremely important to our business strategy,” said Hal Michel, CEO of eLSG.SkyChefs.
Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture will provide all application development and information technology services on an ongoing basis as well as program, project management and implementation services for eLSG.SkyChefs.
“We are pleased to continue our long working relationship with this organization and share the mutual goal of changing the way industry players buy and sell services.”, said Tom Tubergen, partner, Accenture. “We believe that eLSG.SkyChefs is well positioned to increase the speed, quality and consistency of products and services available to airlines, caterers and suppliers for the ultimate benefit of the airline passenger.”
