Accenture Wins Airbus Best in Class Award for Innovation at the 2016 Airbus Supplier Conference
HAMBURG; Oct. 6, 2016 Airbus has honored Accenture with the Best in Class Award for Innovation. This award, presented at the 2016 Airbus Supplier Conference, recognizes the success of a wearable technology initiative that was designed to improve the manufacturing process and accelerate time to market for the A330 aircraft. The initiative, developed and implemented by Accenture in collaboration with Airbus, provides leading edge technology and field support, eliminating errors and increasing productivity of the addressed assembly process by 500% on the A330 Final Assembly Line.
As part of a long term strategy to reap the benefits of digital, Airbus recently signed a five year ‘Digital Shopfloor Service Agreement’ with Accenture that will see Airbus operators on the A330 Final Assembly Line equipped with the most advanced mobile and wearable devices to support them in their daily work, increasing productivity, improving quality of service and ultimately generating significant savings.
