Accenture to Open First Delivery Center in Japan

Hokkaido center to provide application outsourcing and system integration services

SAPPORO, Japan; Aug. 17, 2006 – Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, will open a new delivery center in Hokkaido to provide application outsourcing and system integration services, primarily for Japanese clients.

The Hokkaido center is scheduled to be operational by November 2006. Accenture plans to serve Japanese clients from the new center by partnering with local information technology firms and having more than 200 professionals working in Hokkaido within the next three years.

The Hokkaido center is the latest addition to Accenture’s Global Delivery Network, one of the world’s largest networks for a wide array of services in system integration, application outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing and business process outsourcing.

“We’re pleased to contribute to the rejuvenation of the IT industry in Hokkaido, where we’ve successfully conducted pilot projects and expect to tap into the region’s large pool of highly educated and talented technology graduates and professionals,” said Chikatomo Hodo, Accenture’s country managing director for Japan. “The new center will allow Japanese clients to outsource in a local environment, while drawing on our Global Delivery Network’s combination of industry expertise, functional capabilities, tools and methodologies and technology.”

Through the Global Delivery Network, clients can distribute work among more than 47,000 Accenture professionals in more than 40 delivery centers to create multi-country teams that leverage the necessary language skills, time-zone advantages, and specialized industry or technical expertise to best meet their needs.

Accenture also has a major office in Tokyo that provides management consulting and on-site technology services to business and government clients throughout Japan.
