Accenture to Expand Management Consulting Capabilities in India

DELHI; March 20, 2007 — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) is expanding its management consulting capabilities in India to serve clients globally and support its clients in the domestic market.

Yesterday the company announced plans to significantly increase the number of management consulting professionals worldwide. Accenture expects India to play a key role in that expansion, with up to 2,000 management consulting professionals here by the end of its 2008 fiscal year, on Aug. 31, 2008.

“Expanding our management consulting capabilities in India will complement the capabilities we have in technology and outsourcing, benefiting both domestic clients in India and clients in other markets,” said Mark Foster, Accenture’s group chief executive–Management Consulting & Integrated Markets. “India has a talented workforce with strong intellectual and research and development capabilities that can benefit Accenture clients around the globe. We are actively recruiting management consultants, professionals with deep industry and functional expertise, and graduates of India’s top business schools.”

The expansion of Accenture’s management consulting capabilities in India includes additional growth in the company’s consulting analytics center in Delhi. The analytics center provides Accenture’s global client base with access to consulting skills such as customer, marketing and data analytics; marketing automation and campaign management; and enterprise performance management.

“Strong growth is expected across most industry sectors in India, and businesses here are becoming more sophisticated in their buying of services and more amenable to investments in technology, all of which provides opportunities for Accenture,” said Harsh Manglik, chairman and managing director of Accenture in India. “As the first global consulting firm in India — we’ve been operating here since 1987 — we are well-positioned to combine our management consulting, technology and outsourcing capabilities to provide clients, both domestic and global, with comprehensive services that enable them to become high-performance businesses.”
