Accenture Teams with SAP to Help High-Tech Companies Create Digital As-a-Service Business Models Quickly and Easily

New SAP Entitlement Management solution to integrate with SAP S/4HANA®

NEW YORK; May 8, 2018 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) is collaborating with SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) to develop an intelligent entitlement-management solution that helps high-tech companies quickly and easily create, build and scale new digital business models.

Entitlement-management solutions help enable companies grant, enforce and administer customer access entitlements – often referred to as “authorizations,” “privileges,” “access rights” and/or “permissions” – to data, devices and services, including embedded software applications, from a single platform.

The new solution, SAP Entitlement Management, will help companies dynamically change individual customer access rights and other entitlement attributes, as well as install renewal-automation capabilities, so they can rapidly deploy new offerings and more-flexible pricing structures. Its entitlement-management and embedded analytics capabilities integrate with the commerce and order-management capabilities of the SAP S/4HANA® enterprise-resource-planning software suite. The offering ultimately helps enable companies generate new revenue streams and deliver new products and services to market faster.

“As high-tech companies rapidly transition from stand-alone products to highly connected platforms, they are under mounting pressure to create and scale new intelligent and digital business models,” said David Sovie, the senior managing director of Accenture’s High-Tech practice. “The solution Accenture is developing with SAP will help enable our clients to pivot to as-a-service business models that are more flexible and can be easily customized.”

For this initiative, Accenture is providing consulting, system development and integration, solution implementation and analytics capabilities, alongside its high-tech industry expertise.

“The high-tech industry is in a tremendous period of innovation and business model evolution,” said Stefan Krauss, global general manager, Discrete Manufacturing Industries, SAP. “SAP is excited about the plans to combine our leading SAP S/4HANA platform with Accenture’s industry expertise to create a compelling solution for companies making the shift to an ‘as-a-service’ business model.”

This new solution builds on Accenture and SAP’s ongoing collaboration to develop and bring to market new industry solutions on SAP S/4HANA.

Accenture also recently launched the Accenture Intelligent Enterprise Platform (AIEP), an insight-driven, digitally integrated platform that powers enterprise transformation from business case to roadmap to delivery. The platform captures the most advanced and disruptive Accenture thinking around industry, innovation and technology to help companies reinvent themselves as intelligent enterprises. As part of its capabilities, AIEP embeds SAP Model Company services - prepackaged, ready-to-use, end-to-end reference services tailored to an industry or line of business.
