Accenture Selected to Develop the ICT Master Plan for EXPO 2025 in Japan
TOKYO and OSAKA; Oct 7, 2020 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been selected to develop a master information and communications technology (ICT) plan for EXPO 2025, the World Expo to be held in Osaka, Japan, from April through October 2025.
Selected by the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, Accenture will help developing the ICT master plan to bring to life the Expo’s theme: "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." The goal of the Expo is to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations by showcasing Japan’s national Society 5.0 strategy, which encompasses the use of advanced technologies in support of sustainable economic growth and alleviation of social challenges.
Accenture’s work, which is scheduled to be completed by June 2021, includes helping develop a general ICT platform, a smart services plan, guidelines for the creation of 3-D building information models, and advanced ICT technology experiments to be conducted prior to the Expo.
