Accenture Selected as Master Technologist for Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport

SYDNEY; June 22, 2020 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been appointed Master Technologist for the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, opening in 2026.

In this role, Accenture will support Western Sydney Airport, which is responsible for building the airport, to design the technology architecture and infrastructure required for an international airport capable of delivering an enhanced passenger journey now and into the future.

Working with airport authorities, Accenture will consider how innovative technologies — such as the internet of things (IoT), data management (analytics), cloud computing and security — can be deployed to enable efficient operations and facilitate the rapid and safe movement of people and goods throughout the airport. The goal is to create a world-leading airport that is responsive to the needs of travellers, users of airport facilities, employees and industry partners.

Bob Easton, Chairman, Accenture Australia and New Zealand, said, “This project is a great example of innovation in the planning and development of intelligent infrastructure. We look forward to working with Western Sydney Airport and will bring our deep industry experience in airports, digital technologies, cloud and customer experience to this project of national significance.”

Accenture has strong global experience working with infrastructure providers, airport operators and border management agencies.
