Accenture Recognized on FORTUNE'S "100 Best Companies to Work For" List for Third Consecutive Year

NEW YORK; Jan. 20, 2011 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named to FORTUNE magazine’s 2011 “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for the third year in a row, ranking No. 99. The annual ranking, now in its 14th year, is a prestigious recognition of the best in workplace culture and talent initiatives.

“Finding the best people, grooming them for global careers and exceeding their expectations remains a top priority,” said LaMae Allen deJongh, Managing Director, US Human Capital and Diversity, Accenture. “We are honored to be recognized once again as a leading employer of choice—particularly as we continue to actively/aggressively recruit in the United States and around the world.”

FORTUNE recognizes several of Accenture’s leading initiatives, including “Future Leave,” a self-funded sabbatical that allows U.S. employees to take up to three months away from work, with continued health care and insurance benefits and the assurance that they can return to work after their leave.

Accenture provides a number of programs and initiatives for employees, including:

Accenture debuted on the ranking at No. 97 in 2009, followed by last year’s rank of No. 84. To pick the 100 Best Companies to Work For, FORTUNE partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Three hundred eleven companies participated in this year’s survey. Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about management’s credibility, job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts. Any company that is at least seven years old with more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible. The deadline for applying for next year’s list is June 15, 2011.
