Accenture Recognized by CDP as Global Leader for Corporate Action on Climate Change



Company expands 2020 goals to further reduce environmental footprint


NEW YORK; Dec. 1, 2015 – For the second consecutive year, Accenture (NYSE:ACN) is recognized as a global leader for its actions and strategies in response to climate change and is named to the “Climate A List” by CDP, an international not-for-profit that drives sustainable economies. The “Climate A List” is produced at the request of 822 investors who represent more than a third of the world’s invested capital.

Accenture is also included on CDP’s “Climate Disclosure Leadership Index,” which represents the top 10 percent of S&P 500 companies based on the completeness and quality of their responses to CDP’s annual request for climate disclosures. Accenture received a disclosure score of 99 out of 100.

“There is no shortage of innovation and technology to address climate change, but there is a greater need to apply these at massive scale to have a meaningful impact,” Nanterme said. “Businesses and governments must collaborate to turn effective policy into bold, sustainable outcomes.”

Nanterme is one of more than 75 CEOs of global companies to join the World Economic Forum-facilitated CEO Climate Leadership Group. CEOs signed an open letter to world leaders urging a comprehensive, inclusive and ambitious climate deal at the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties 21 (COP 21).

Accenture has responded to CDP’s Investor Program since 2007 and reports its non-financial performance each year through its Corporate Citizenship Report and key rankings programs.
