Accenture Recognized as the Leading Global Service Provider to the Healthcare Industry

NEW YORK; Jan. 18, 2021 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named the number one service provider for the healthcare sector in a recent report from industry analyst firm HFS Research.

The report — “HFS Top 10 Healthcare Sector Service Providers” — evaluated the healthcare-specific capabilities of 18 service providers for their innovation and execution capabilities based on services for healthcare payers and providers across the globe. HFS noted that “Accenture is the only service provider covered in this report that can bring together consulting, technology, and operations at scale to its healthcare clients.”

HFS posited that the demand explosion, supply shortage and the pandemic shock has created a burning platform for the healthcare industry to embrace change. These range from reducing cost of care, shifting from illness to wellness, and driving resiliency and compliance to better manage risks. Therefore, HFS sought to determine which service providers are best poised to help healthcare providers deliver on these customer and patient experience transformations.

“Insight-driven health is at the heart of Accenture’s innovation approach for healthcare backed by patented ideas and technology platforms,” said Saurabh Gupta, chief research officer and co-author of the report. “What also sets Accenture apart is its investments in innovations and capabilities in healthcare-oriented emerging technologies across hybrid cloud, and what we call the “Triple-A Trifecta” (automation, AI, and analytics), as well as IoT, and blockchain. Furthermore, Accenture’s open innovation network along with its strategic alliances with healthcare software leaders and other technology players allow it to continuously bring innovation to its healthcare clients.”

The report is based on global requests for information (RFIs) and vendor briefings, healthcare client references as well as non-reference clients, and publicly available information.

“Our research confirms that patients are demanding better experiences — indeed two-thirds of patients are likely or highly likely to switch to a new health system if their expectations are not met. Put simply, the industry needs to embrace innovation and change, and therefore we are honored to be recognized by HFS as leading in this effort to help our clients meet their customers’ needs,” said Rich Birhanzel, a senior managing director at Accenture who leads the company’s Health practice globally.
