Accenture Recognized as a Leader in IDC MarketScape Cited for SAP Implementation Skills

NEW YORK; June 23, 2010 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been recognized as a “leader” in a newly-released study from IDC that analyzes the capabilities of firms that perform SAP implementations.

“Accenture’s strengths include one of the largest set of global capabilities in the ecosystem, a 30-year history of working closely with SAP, a broad and robust set of SAP implementation services, SAP-managed services, and the ability to combine management and technology consulting,” said a portion of the study.

“Deep client relationships and many reference accounts and mindshare, particularly at the C level, continue to drive Accenture’s penetration further into its large pool of existing clients.”

The study is entitled, "IDC MarketScape: SAP Implementation Ecosystems, 2009 Vendor Analysis .” IDC is a leading industry analyst firm.

“We’re honored to have been so highly rated, especially since the findings reflect the opinions of buyers of system integration services for SAP,” said Mark Willford, global managing director, Accenture SAP business. “What’s more, IDC’s MarketScape methodology is very rigorous. So we view the rating as validation of Accenture’s long track record of helping clients achieve high performance by leveraging SAP solutions.”

The recently-released study, which was conducted in 2009, used IDC’s MarketScape model to evaluate the ‘competitive fitness’ of firms that integrate SAP-based systems on behalf of companies and organizations. A variety of firms were evaluated.

“This MarketScape report is perhaps the most comprehensive done by any organization on the topic of SAP-based systems integration,” said Willford. “It represents IDC’s opinion on which firms are well positioned today through current capabilities, and which are best positioned to continue to provide top notch service to its clients in the future.”
