ARLINGTON, Va.; July 1, 2013 – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has selected Accenture Federal Services as one of the prime contractors to provide technical support under a $64 million Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) contracting vehicle. The BPA has a one-year base with four, one-year options.
The SEC’s BPA is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle that will help the agency integrate and improve Oracle Development Services for IT functions. A more modern, standardized system will help create cost savings, improve performance and simplify online interactions. Work under the BPA will make it easier for clients and customers to file registrations, meet compliance and examination requirements and increase efficiency for sharing data.
“Meeting the changing needs of its clients by leveraging and improving technology remains a top priority for the SEC. This work will help the agency better connect its customers to essential information, services and benefits, significantly improving their experiences when interacting with the federal government,” said Ed Meehan, who leads Accenture’s federal civilian agency portfolio.
Accenture qualified for work in three categories: System Development, Integration, Maintenance, Implementation and Enhancements; Infrastructure, Application and Solution Architecture Management; and Business Consulting IT Services.
The SEC is a regulatory agency charged with protecting investors and overseeing the U.S. financial securities markets, including securities exchanges, securities brokers and dealers, investment advisors and mutual funds.
Accenture also is working with the SEC on major architectural improvements and the redesign of its three public websites, online tools used most frequently by the public, and the agency’s employee intranet.
Accenture Federal Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture LLP, a U.S. company, with offices in Arlington, VA.
