Accenture Positioned as a Leader in IDC MarketScape Report on Worldwide Manufacturing Information Transformation Systems Integration

NEW YORK; July 9, 2018 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been positioned as a leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Manufacturing Information Transformation Systems Integration 2018 Vendor Assessment. Accenture’s leadership position reflects its deep expertise and capabilities in serving manufacturing clients across every product and process at all levels of technology maturity.

The report, which assessed Accenture and eight other prominent service providers, noted that Accenture’s strengths include its delivery and innovation centers, as well as its innovation architecture, which is used to scale up projects, complemented by its centers of excellence and strategic partnerships.

“We are delighted that this report recognizes our leadership in serving manufacturing clients, as well as our passion for innovation and drive to provide value for our clients from new technologies,” said Pete Frandina, Accenture Resources Industry X.0 lead for North America. “These new technologies are vital to helping our clients reinvent their industries, improve existing operations and launch entirely new businesses for the future.”

The report noted Accenture’s strong acquisition pipeline, including the recent acquisition of Mackevision, that expands Accenture’s ability to support the development of digital twins of complex physical products, helping companies simulate operations to improve efficiency and safety.

Kevin Prouty, group vice president for IDC Energy and Manufacturing Insights, said, “Accenture’s leadership in this report represents the extensive breadth and scope of its services, which was borne out especially in one project where Accenture helped a manufacturer undergoing an enterprise resource planning upgrade, an acquisition and a divestiture at the same time. This agility to manage multiple projects, combined with Accenture’s end-to-end information transformation services, helps manufacturing companies seeking to build competitive advantage.”

The report is based on research, including briefings by market-leading vendors, interviews with manufacturers on their experiences with vendors, and publicly available information
