Accenture Positioned as a Leader in IDC MarketScape for Asia Pacific Professional Security Services, 2022

SINGAPORE; Dec. 14, 2022 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been positioned within the Leaders category in the IDC MarketScape Report for Asia Pacific Professional Security Services Vendor Assessment (doc IDC #AP49101123e, October 2022) in both of IDC’s assessment categories: capabilities and strategies.

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

This assessment is based on a combination of user interviews, buyer surveys and the input of IDC experts in each market, and highlights Accenture’s unique end-to-end security capability offering as a key differentiator. It notes that Accenture is one of the most comprehensive security service providers with a wide range of capabilities that span security strategy development, implementation, integration, testing, and security operations. Also highlighted is Accenture’s end-to-end capabilities for the design and implementation of advanced OT and IoT cybersecurity technology deployments. Accenture’s customer-centric operating model and its close relationships with cloud hyperscalers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Google and SAP also contribute to their advantage and readiness to build and manage secure cloud solutions.

With 16,000 professionals across 67 countries, Accenture’s global operating model makes it one of the most comprehensive vendors in the market offering a wide array of professional security services. The report also highlights Accenture’s commitment to innovation to improve customer security. Aside from investments in research and development and intellectual property, it calls out Accenture’s Cyber Digital Twin Platform (CyTwin) and its ten global Cyber Fusion Centers (three based in Asia Pacific — Bangalore, Sydney and Tokyo) as investments that have equipped Accenture with the ability to solve industry and business-specific challenges, which in turn help create end-to-end solutions for customers.

According to the assessment, customers have praised the flexibility and diversity of Accenture’s knowledge pool and mature retainer model that provide customers with tabletop simulations, incident response plans, playbooks, and year-round threat hunting capabilities. Customers have also highlighted Accenture’s ability to transform an understanding of their business needs into actionable offerings that matched their requirements.

James Nunn-Price, Accenture’s Security lead, Growth Markets said, “With an increasingly sophisticated threat landscape, organisations need the innovative insights, guidance and resources to stay ahead of the curve. We work side-to-side with our clients to understand their unique challenges while leveraging the depth, breadth and scale of our capabilities to improve their cyber resilience. By teaming with our alliance partners and global network to deliver powerful solutions, we also help keep our clients, their customers, employees and partner networks, secure.”

This IDC MarketScape report examined Accenture alongside 12 other organizations offering professional security services in the Asia Pacific region. The vendors were assessed across two primary categories, capabilities and strategies. The capabilities category assesses a vendor’s current capabilities and menu of services, including how well-aligned they are to customer needs, while the strategies category assesses how well the vendor‘s future strategy aligns with what customers will require in three to five years.
