Accenture Names Richard A. Lumb Group Chief Executive–Financial Services

London-based Accenture veteran to oversee company’s Financial Services business serving banking, capital markets and insurance industry clients

NEW YORK; Nov. 23, 2010 — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has named Richard A. Lumb group chief executive of the company’s Financial Services operating group, which serves clients in the banking, capital markets and insurance industries, effective Dec. 1. In his new role, Mr. Lumb will join Accenture’s executive leadership team and succeed Pierre Nanterme, who will become Accenture’s chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2011.

Mr. Lumb, 49, currently serves as senior managing director of Accenture’s Financial Services operating unit in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, a position he held since June 2006. Prior to that, he served as managing director of business and market development in the Financial Services operating group, with responsibility for leading the origination of some of Accenture’s largest client engagements.

Mr. Lumb has spent most of his Accenture career working in the Financial Services operating group, which accounted for more than $4.4 billion of Accenture’s net revenues in fiscal 2010. Prior to being appointed managing director of business and market development for the Financial Services operating group in September 2005, he was managing partner of the Insurance industry practice in the United Kingdom and Ireland and also served as managing partner of Accenture’s Change Management and Human Performance service line in Financial Services for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Based in London, Mr. Lumb joined Accenture in 1984 and became a partner in 1995. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from Bradford University in the United Kingdom.
