Accenture Names Adrian Lajtha Chief Leadership Officer

28-Year Accenture veteran to oversee company’s human capital and diversity agenda
NEW YORK; Sept. 20, 2007 – Accenture has named Adrian Lajtha chief leadership officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Lajtha most recently was Accenture’s group chief executive–Financial Services, overseeing the company’s operating group that serves clients in the banking, capital markets and insurance industries.

In his new role, Mr. Lajtha, 50, has primary responsibility for Accenture’s human capital and diversity agenda, including corporate citizenship.  His responsibilities also encompass Accenture’s leadership development program, which focuses on building the leadership capabilities of Accenture’s more than 11,000 senior executives and senior managers globally; and the development of and succession planning for the company’s top 200 executives, considered to be Accenture’s next generation of leaders.

Mr. Lajtha succeeds Pierre Nanterme, who has been appointed group chief executive–Financial Services.

“Adrian is a committed advocate for our people and core values, and leadership development is both a priority and a passion for him,” said William D. Green, Accenture’s Chairman and CEO.  “He brings to his role his strong business judgment, along with a keen sense of what is happening ‘in the trenches’ each day with our leaders and our people.  His appointment will help ensure that we have the right talent mix of leaders who are inspired to deliver our High Performance Business strategy – this is essential to our future.”

Prior to being named group chief executive–Financial Services in May 2005, Mr. Lajtha was managing partner of Accenture’s Financial Services business in the United Kingdom and Ireland, a position he held since 2000.  He led Accenture’s resource management group in the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa from 1999 to 2000 and the company’s Strategy unit in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region from 1993 to 1999.

Mr. Lajtha joined Accenture in 1979 and became a partner in 1990.  He served on Accenture’s Board of Partners prior to Accenture’s incorporation in 2001.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a former member of the Council of the Institute of Financial Services in the United Kingdom.
