Accenture Named to 2015 List of Canada’s Top 100 Employers

TORONTO; Nov, 4, 2014 – Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has been named to Canada’s Top 100 Employers list for the fifth consecutive year. The list, which results from an annual competition to recognize Canada’s best places to work, appears today on The Globe and Mail’s website and the Canadian job search engine, www.Eluta.ca.

"Accenture is a Canadian employer of choice, thanks to a rock-solid commitment to our core values by our thousands of employees across Canada,” said Bill Morris, Canada president and senior managing director at Accenture. “We believe that by providing mentoring and training opportunities, strong diversity and environmental programs and a top-flight workplace strategy, we are giving our people the right foundation to best serve our clients and accelerate growth.”

Accenture is consistently recognized globally as an employer of choice, including by DiversityInc for the past eight years and FORTUNE magazine for the past six years.

"As a global company, we are culturally diverse by nature and we believe in fostering our employees’ diverse talents and backgrounds while remaining united by our core values and common methodologies," said Claudia Thompson, managing director, Human Capital & Diversity, Accenture in Canada. "We believe that being an employer with a top-tier diversity program enables us to attract and retain the best people.”

Among the programs and initiatives that contributed to Accenture being named to Canada’s Top 100 Employers list are:

  • Inclusion & Diversity: Each year, Accenture continues to build and expand its employee programs, including those for our women as well as our LGBT, Aboriginal, Persons with Disabilities and Military Interest Groups. This year, the number of women working at Accenture increased to more than 100,000 – approximately 36 percent of the company’s global workforce.  In Canada, Accenture has developed a robust action plan to support women as they transition into senior leadership roles. The plan includes experienced mentor programs, executive coaching, networking opportunities and social events.
  • Corporate Citizenship: Skills to Succeed, Accenture’s corporate citizenship initiative, helps address the global need for skills that open doors to employment and economic opportunity by drawing on two of Accenture’s unique capabilities: training talent and convening powerful partnerships to develop collaborative solutions.  By the end of fiscal 2013, Accenture had equipped more than half a million people with workplace and entrepreneurial skills.  By 2015, the company plans to equip 700,000 people globally with the skills to get a job or build a business.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements & Collaborative Workspaces: Accenture offers options for how and where employees work, enabling them to better manage their professional and personal commitments.  The company’s workspaces are outfitted with collaborative technologies and tools such as TelePresence and video conferencing to allow employees to easily connect worldwide.  This year, Accenture opened a new office for its established Montreal team and the Toronto office was featured in a video series in The Globe and Mail.
  • Training & Career Mentoring:  Accenture is committed to the ongoing development of its employees.  It recently introduced Accenture Connected Learning, which brings Accenture people an expanded range of physical and virtual environments – including innovative learning boards, new connected classrooms and learning centers – that help build their specialized professional skills and capabilities.
