Accenture Named a National Association of Female Executives Top Company for the Fifth Time

Accenture’s group chief executive for North America Julie Sweet to speak at awards ceremony in New York City

NEW YORK: Mar. 17, 2016 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced that the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has named the company to the 2016 list of “Top Companies for Executive Women.” This marks the fifth time that NAFE has recognized Accenture as a top company for female executives. Julie Sweet, Accenture’s group chief executive for North America, will deliver opening remarks today at NAFE’s “Top Companies for Executive Women Gala Awards Luncheon” in New York City.

In recognizing Accenture, NAFE highlighted the company’s focus on women in leadership positions, its environment that helps all employees thrive and its initiatives to retain and promote female employees at all levels of the organization.

“Accenture is honored to be recognized for our efforts to develop and advance women,” said Sweet. “Our commitment to inclusion and diversity starts at the top, and we believe strongly that gender equality is an essential element of an inclusive workplace. This makes us stronger, smarter and more innovative, which helps us better serve the needs of our clients, our people and our communities.”

Accenture recently conducted research, Getting to Equal: How Digital is Helping Close the Gender Gap at Work, which focuses on how digital fluency -- the extent to which people embrace and use digital technologies to become more knowledgeable, connected and effective -- plays a key role in helping women achieve gender equality and level the playing field in the workplace.

In addition to the areas highlighted by NAFE, Accenture offers innovative initiatives and programs, including expanded parental leave benefits in the United States, which extend maternity leave to 16 weeks, increase primary care giver leave to eight weeks and provide employees the opportunity to work locally for one year following their return from the birth or adoption of a child. Additionally, the company recently reported, for the first time, the demographics of its US workforce for gender, ethnicity, persons with disabilities and veterans. Moving forward, Accenture intends to report annually on its progress across these areas of diversity.
