Accenture Named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: European Professional Services for Government Citizen Experience 2021 Vendor Assessment

DUBLIN; August 10, 2021 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named a leader in the IDC MarketScape: European Professional Services for Government Citizen Experience 2021 Vendor Assessment* report. The report noted Accenture has strong Strategy & Consulting capabilities in the region and a proven ability to deliver value through long-term ecosystem relationships.

The IDC MarketScape report evaluated the combination of project-oriented services, (e.g., business and IT consulting, systems integration, and custom application development), managed services and support services that enable better “citizen experience solutions”. These range from digital services to omni-channel integration to case management. The IDC MarketScape found that European public service leaders must focus on delivering efficient, trusted, highly responsive, inclusive and convenient public services, along with improving operational efficiency and maintaining a citizen-centric focus.

To that end, the IDC MarketScape credited Accenture for “driving citizen experience thought leadership centered around the concept of empowering ‘truly human governments’ that break down silos, build up capabilities, and empower workforces to move from transactions to relationships with citizens.”

“Accenture is recognized as a leader in providing strategic consulting services to help government clients shape their, innovation and transformation agendas,” said Max Claps, research director in the European IDC Government Insights team and report author. “Given its public sector industry knowledge Accenture is well-positioned to help governments implement responsive, convenient and personalized, end-to-end citizen experience solutions.”

“Our positioning as a Leader in this IDC MarketScape reflects how we have deepened our industry and functional programs, expanded cross-industry connections, and infused a full spectrum of digital capabilities — including applied intelligence, data, innovation and human-centered design capabilities — across all of our offerings,” said Mark Lyons, senior managing director, Strategy & Consulting, Accenture, and public service industry lead for Europe. “This helps government clients deploy technology solutions that enable immersive digital capabilities and are capable of delivering better and more personalized services to citizens.”

The report also highlighted Accenture’s proven ability to leverage strategic ecosystem relationships and to co-create solutions to help clients drive greater efficiencies, enhance citizen experiences and deliver services in new ways. Accenture Intelligent Platform Services were credited for playing an important role in extending the go-to-market capabilities of platform partners. Accenture’s investment in R&D and global innovation centers such as The Dock in Dublin were recognized for enabling Accenture to work closely with clients and ecosystem partners to accelerate the development of human-centric solutions.

“Governments are experiencing unprecedented disruption. The challenges presented by COVID-19 demand they reimagine their organizations and take action, not only to weather this crisis, but deepen relationships with citizens and emerge stronger from the pandemic,” Lyons added. “We are honored to work with public service leaders embracing this moment to innovate and accelerate their digital capabilities, and to transform their organizations and workforces through the power of data, analytics and technology.”

The IDC MarketScape report assessed the capabilities and business strategies of twelve prominent business consultant firms working with governments in Europe, with a significant portion of the evaluation based on client feedback.
