NEW YORK; Aug. 12, 2019 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) was named as a Leader in the 2019 Forrester Wave™ report on global application programming interface (API) strategy and delivery service providers. The Forrester Wave™: Global API Strategy and Delivery Service Providers, Q2 2019 report scored Accenture highest in the current offering category and states that, “In support of APIs, Accenture incorporates a wide range of technologies and best practices in its definitions of integration and microservices strategy and platforms.”
The report adds that “Accenture provides a robust and well-rounded set of API-related services,” and "Accenture’s top strengths were API business strategy, program setup, managed operations, quality practices, its innovation road map, and its range of commercial models." The report also notes Accenture’s investment in industry vertical API catalogs and "important thinking on how the right solution architectures and API designs facilitate business agility.”
The report researched and scored the nine service providers “that matter most” across 19 criteria and states, “APIs — that is, the right sorts of APIs and API business strategy — become central to an organization’s ability to rapidly reconfigure business models, business processes, and customer experience in response to market disruptions and technology innovation. Indeed, global developers at firms that use APIs externally are nearly three times as likely to report that their firms have revenue growth of 15% or more.”
"Aligning an API program strategy to a business vision and outcomes is critical for success. An organization should have an API-first mindset with a focus on improving user experience and quickly introducing new products and services," said Sachin Satija, global application programming interface lead, Accenture. “We believe that being named as a Leader in this Forrester report reflects not only our strong capability and track record in the API space but also our commitment to achieving our client’s business vision built on the foundation of an end-to-end API program. These programs include business & technology strategy, thought leadership, API architecture, API infrastructure, API blueprinting, API design, change management, operating model design and program scalability.”
Accenture’s software engineers focus on solving intractable business problems in creative, unexpected and pragmatic ways, using data, artificial intelligence, cloud and other new technologies. A complimentary copy of the research report is available here.
