Accenture Japan Receives Industry Partner of the Year Award
at Oracle OpenWorld 2011
TOKYO; Nov.11, 2011 – Accenture Japan Ltd. has received an Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized Global Partner of the Year Award for Industries. The award was presented during the welcome keynote at Oracle OpenWorld last month. Part of the Oracle Excellence Awards, this award is presented by Oracle to partners that have provided the most innovative Oracle solutions for customers. Accenture is a Diamond level member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN).
The Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized Global Awards was held to commend OPN partners that have made the biggest contributions to Oracle’s business development and solved customers’ problems through superior solutions between June 2010 and May 2011. This July, Accenture had also received an Industry Partner of the Year award at the 14th Oracle Awards 2011, organized by Oracle Corporation Japan. The latest award brings the total number of Oracle Awards received globally by Accenture since 2003 to 52. It is the third Oracle award received by Accenture in Japan, and the first such award in four years.
This year’s award was earned by an Accenture project for Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., to support the speedy construction of group management infrastructure for global business development using Oracle solutions. The decisive factor behind the award was Accenture’s ability to drive the difficult project, which involved simultaneous start-ups at multiple offshore centers, to success, through its outstanding engineering ability and project management skills.
In constructing Fast Retailing’s group management infrastructure, Accenture focused on the following three points:
1) Making maximal use of cloud technology, to standardize IT systems overall and provide them as services
2) Use of an ESB-based integration hub to enable speedy integration among old and new internal systems as well as with external systems
3)Provision of the enterprise backbone system Oracle E- Business Suite on Oracle Exadata v2 and the use of Oracle Hyperion Financial Management in the management accounting/budget management system to achieve an infrastructure that operates 24/7
“We feel truly honored to have once again received such a notable award this year. When Fast Retailing, which faces fierce competition in the global market, asked us to construct Japan’s first global operating model in a short period of time, it became essential to utilize the Oracle suite, which combines flexibility with high productivity. Accenture provides all-round support for globalization by Japanese businesses through the Accenture Oracle Innovation Center, which we operate together with Oracle Corporation Japan. Now that Japan faces an unprecedented situation, we believe Accenture’s unified global network is the only business infrastructure that can boost our customers’ international competitiveness quickly and reliably,” said Yasumasa Takeda, Executive Vice President, Accenture.
