Accenture Increases U.S. Paid Maternity Leave to 16 Weeks

NEW YORK; March 12, 2015 – Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has doubled its maternity leave benefits by offering up to 16 weeks of paid leave for its U.S. full-time and part-time women employees.

“Providing our people with career opportunities that are unmatched in the industry means that we must help them navigate the choices and challenges of caring for a new child while they continue pursuing their careers,” said Steve Rohleder, group chief executive – North America, Accenture. “These expanded benefits will help us attract, retain and inspire the best people.”

The new policy, which became effective on March 1, also offers up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave after the birth or adoption of a new child for other primary caregivers and enhances the amount of paid leave for secondary caregivers.

Accenture’s comprehensive support for parents also includes access to a variety of resources, such as up to 40 hours of back-up child care per year, and an extensive library of community-based programs and resources.
