Accenture Federal Services Chosen to Support HRSA Electronic Handbooks System

ARLINGTON, Va.; Oct. 31, 2016 – Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has been selected to provide operations and maintenance support for the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) electronic handbooks system (EHBs) and position the agency for future innovation. The one-year, $15.5 million contract has four one-year options, with a total value of $81.3 million.

Working with DMI, Microsoft and Avanade, AFS will use Microsoft technologies to simplify development to production integration, streamline HRSA grants management operations, increase transparency and reduce overall support costs. Accenture will bring the technology expertise also provide digital innovation to enhance HRSA EHBs, including social, mobile, analytics and cloud.

AFS will provide support and services for program management, application management, infrastructure management, system and acceptance testing, reporting and dashboarding, data analysis and system evolution and growth.

“We’re pleased to provide HRSA with support that both addresses the current needs of HRSA’s EHBs and provides flexibility for future technology innovation and business growth,” said Mary Edwards, who leads Accenture’s work with federal civilian health agencies.

This work will broaden Accenture’s support within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the federal health industry. It will give HRSA the ability to leverage Accenture’s partnerships with leading technology vendors as well as its unique capabilities and offerings for IT operations and digital, interactive, analytics, cloud and mobility technologies.

An HHS agency, HRSA is the primary federal agency for improving health and achieving health equity through access to quality services, a skilled health workforce and innovative programs. HRSA’s programs provide health care to people who are geographically isolated and economically or medically vulnerable. The EHBs, first implemented in 2002, standardized business processes and provides a single-point of access for grant customers and HRSA employees to manage grants across their lifecycle.
