Companies deliver comprehensive suite of internet solutions
NEW YORK, December 19, 2001 – Accenture today announced it has extended its alliance with PeopleSoft Inc. as strategic business partners to provide professional services, business strategy, software products and training worldwide to clients in the Government and Higher Education markets.
The companies are working together to deliver a full range of solutions to the education and government markets. These solutions are based on the PeopleSoft 8 suite of pure Internet business applications, including human resources, financial management, student administration and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions. PeopleSoft’s Pure Internet architecture and full range of business applications seamlessly connect customers, suppliers, employees, and partners to business processes online in real time - to dramatically improve business performance while lowering cost.
Accenture and PeopleSoft will focus on continuing to build their strength in the government and education markets. The companies have partnered on more than 180 major engagements, delivering modern administrative systems to the public and private sectors. Joint government customers include the U.S. State Department, New York State Office of the Comptroller, the New Zealand Customs Service, and the French Ministry of Finance and Industry, among others.
In addition, both companies have provided services to 16 universities. Among their joint higher education clients are the University of Massachusetts, The Ohio State University, University of Michigan, University of Queensland, University of New South Wales and Griffith University in Australia, and Kanto Gakuen University in Japan.
“Accenture and PeopleSoft have enjoyed tremendous success in the marketplace for nearly a decade with our complementary skills, services, products and extensive global footprint,” said Kenneth Mitchell, an Accenture Partner for the Government practice. “As the marketplace has changed and become more competitive, our relationship has kept pace by applying new and emerging innovative technologies to help clients overcome challenges and seize opportunities, modernizing administrative systems, linking them to the Internet and introducing such new capabilities as PeopleSoft 8.”
Accenture, a global consulting and technology organization, and PeopleSoft, a leading enterprise application software provider, have worked together through a teaming arrangement first established in North America in 1993. The companies help government agencies and educational institutions manage change in a wide range of areas – including adopting new administrative systems, accelerating the results of new and emerging technologies, and designing new processes to leverage the benefits of PeopleSoft’s government and higher education commercial off-the-shelf software.
“Through this alliance, Accenture and PeopleSoft will continue to help government and university officials improve their ability to deliver government and education programs and manage them more cost effectively,” said Kevin Horigan, vice president and general manager of PeopleSoft Education and Government. “Our suite of enterprise products and Accenture’s deep expertise in change management and business process re-engineering continues to be a winning combination.”
