Accenture BPO Group Chief Executive Mike Salvino Inducted into Outsourcing Hall of Fame


NEW YORK; February 18, 2014 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced Mike Salvino, group chief executive of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), will be inducted into the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) Outsourcing Hall of Fame for his outstanding career achievements and contributions to the industry. Salvino will be recognized today at the 2014 Outsourcing World Summit in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

The Outsourcing Hall of Fame acknowledges individuals for their leadership and outsourcing management practices, as well as for contributions to community-based economic development and socially-directed investments, career development, education and training through outsourcing.

With more than 20 years of experience in the outsourcing industry, Salvino has built new businesses, introduced new outsourcing approaches and developed new outsourcing offerings in areas such as marketing, supply chain, credit services and health management. Salvino’s experience, insights and active personal involvement have helped shape the evolution of outsourcing from a transaction processing tool focused on cost reduction to a true driver of business value.

Throughout his career, Salvino has been a committed and articulate voice for skills development in outsourcing, and for the need to create career paths for outsourcing professionals. In addition to supporting the IAOP’s Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) program, he has championed award-winning employee engagement and talent development programs in Accenture, including most recently the Accenture Business Process Innovation Academy, a collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The Academy provides training and certification for Accenture employees in the key technologies that are driving today’s BPO services, including analytics and enterprise architecture.

Salvino will highlight the importance of talent management in outsourcing during his keynote speech at the Outsourcing World Summit on February 18.
