Accenture Assists PosteMobile in Reducing Fraud And Improving Reseller Performance

ROME; Sept. 3, 2009 -- Accenture (NYSE: ACN) teamed with HP to develop business solutions for PosteMobile, one of Italy’s leading providers in the mobile communication market. The solutions provide security for customer financial transactions, deliver a high level of fraud protection, and enable mobile handsets to transfer money, payments, and make purchases.

Accenture implemented and maintains PosteMobile’s fraud management solution, which is based on the HP CentralView software platform. The solution enables PosteMobile to securely generate revenues and improve its dealer channel performance. With this solution, PosteMobile has monitoring and analysis tools providing intelligence for more informed decisions on company’s strategic business interests, such as pinpointing fraud and assessing dealers’ impact on profitability.

“The work Accenture and HP are doing around the HP CentralView Fraud Risk Management and Dealer Performance Audit solutions are important building blocks in our effort to maintain leadership as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in Italy,” said Paola Painelli, fraud manager at PosteMobile. “We now have real-time monitoring and predictive analytics solutions that enable us to respond quickly to unusual behavior, either from the network or from our dealers, which dramatically improve our business performance and make us more competitive.”

The fraud-management and dealer-performance solutions that Accenture and HP are implementing are designed to provide PosteMobile with a variety of benefits, including:

· increased precision in detecting fraud and other abnormal behavior, through user-defined key performance indicators, with threshold alarming;

· enhanced case management capabilities, with escalation, notification-management and advanced reporting capabilities;

· detailed reports and user-friendly graphic displays for a comprehensive view of customers’ and dealers’ activity and trends; and

· advanced security and audit capabilities to reduce internal errors and intentional misconduct.

“These solutions reflect our continuous commitment to help our clients become more competitive through faster launch of innovative services and improved operational performance,” said Filippo Caroselli, Accenture’s senior executive responsible for PosteMobile support. “Accenture is a leading integrator of technology in the Communications Industry. By teaming with HP on this project, we were able to quickly deploy and operate solutions that enable PosteMobile to identify, investigate and respond to fraudulent activities — as well as prevent them in the first place.”

Nigel Upton, director of Communications and Media Solutions at HP, said, “PosteMobile is now better able to protect its hard-earned revenues. HP is committed to helping operators like PosteMobile derive timely insight to enable effective decision-making. Our HP CentralView solutions are built on extensive global experience – and we continue to invest to ensure they remain the most advanced in the industry.”
