Accenture Appoints Pierre Nanterme Group Chief Executive–Financial Services

24-Year Accenture veteran to oversee company’s business serving banking, capital markets and insurance industry clients

NEW YORK; Sept. 20, 2007 — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has appointed Pierre Nanterme group chief executive of the company’s Financial Services operating group, which serves clients in the banking, capital markets and insurance industries, effective Sept. 1. He succeeds Adrian Lajtha, who has been appointed chief leadership officer.

Mr. Nanterme, 47, most recently served as Accenture’s chief leadership officer, a position he held since May 2006, and has served as Accenture’s country managing director for France since November 2005.

Mr. Nanterme has spent most of his 24-year Accenture career in Financial Services. Prior to being appointed chief leadership officer, he was managing director–Financial Services for Europe, Africa and Latin America; managing director of the company’s Financial Services Core Europe operating unit; and global managing director of Accenture’s Insurance industry group.

Mr. Nanterme holds and will maintain active leadership in the French business community through three noteworthy affiliations. He is currently serving a three year term as President of the French Consulting and IT Association; it is the fourth largest professional organization in France representing 700,000 jobs and €100 billion. Mr. Nanterme Chairs the Committee for Economic Affairs as a Board member of Medef, the leading French employers association. He has also recently been appointed by President Nicolas Sarkozy to the Committee for French Economic Growth to explore levers for the country’s business drivers.

Mr. Nanterme joined Accenture in 1983 and became a partner in 1993.
