Accenture Appoints Emma McGuigan as Group Technology Officer of Its Communications, Media & Technology Operating Group


LONDON; June 6, 2017 – Accenture has appointed Emma McGuigan as group technology officer of its Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) operating group, effectively immediately, responsible for leading the group’s technology agenda globally.

Her focus will be to define the group’s technology strategy, oversee current and future technology partnerships, and develop emerging technology areas.

McGuigan joined Accenture more than 20 years ago after graduating with a Master’s degree in electronics from the University of Edinburgh. She has held a number of positions in her tenure, most recently leading the Accenture Technology business in the UK & Ireland. Emma is passionate about technology and has spent her career architecting and delivering technology enabled solutions to clients in a range of industries. She has delivered a variety of technologies from across the ecosystem, and has worked with clients on programs from the cutting edge of innovation to large scale core solutions. She is based in London.

McGuigan was named as one of the 50 most influential women in UK IT by Computer Weekly magazine in 2015 and 2016 and was listed in Computer Business Review’s 10 most successful women in UK technology in 2016. She was the Forward Ladies National Women in Business STEM category winner 2016.

McGuigan was made a fellow of The Chartered Institute for IT in 2013. She currently serves as a board member of techUK, an industry advising board member for the Open University Maths and Computing Science department and an advisory board member of Digital Leaders.
