Accenture and Siebel Systems Reach New Milestone

Alliance Signs 100th Joint Client, Underscoring Leadership in the Electronic Marketplace

NEW YORK and SAN MATEO, California, February 10, 2000 -- Accenture, a leading global management and technology consultancy, and Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL), the world’s leading provider of eBusiness applications software, recently signed their 100th joint client -- DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company.

"We selected Accenture and Siebel Systems because of their reputation for delivering solutions that generate improved customer service and bottom-line results," said Arthur C. Chisholm, Chief Information Officer of DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company.

By signing their 100th joint client, Accenture and Siebel Systems fortified their leadership position in providing solutions that allow businesses to leverage technology to acquire, develop, and retain customers in the increasingly complex electronic marketplace.

"The success of the Accenture and Siebel Systems alliance has been its unwavering focus on helping clients build lasting customer relationships, which drives profitable growth and creates market equity," said Joe W. Forehand, Managing Partner and CEO of Accenture. "Our growing client roster is validation of our joint commitment."

Since joining forces in 1994, Accenture and Siebel Systems have provided solutions to 100 companies around the globe, with more than 225 implementations altogether. Clients include Bank One, Cable & Wireless, Siemens, and other well-known companies. A recent independent study showed that, by implementing Siebel technology, companies achieved, on average, 15 percent higher revenue growth, 20 percent higher productivity per employee, and 21 percent higher customer satisfaction ratings.

"Delivering successful eBusiness solutions is all about satisfying customer needs across multiple touch points including call centers, field sales and service organizations, channel partners and, of course, the Internet. Accenture and Siebel Systems have demonstrated time and again our ability to provide our joint clients with the solutions they need to transform their traditional businesses into powerful eBusinesses," said Thomas M. Siebel, Chairman and CEO of Siebel Systems.

Transforming Customer Service: Cable & Wireless North America
Cable & Wireless, a leader in the fast-growing market for Internet and data services for business customers, is among Accenture and Siebel Systems’ 100 clients. Cable & Wireless, which is changing from a product-centric to a customer-centric sales model, says it is gaining a significant strategic advantage by transforming its sales processes using Siebel Sales Enterprise.

The solution will allow more than 900 Cable & Wireless sales professionals to better serve their customers by sharing account and opportunity information, and by cross-selling services. The solution provides better information, making it easier for the sales force to tailor customer offerings. It also reduces time-consuming administrative activities.

"Our sales people will be better equipped, our customers will receive more personal attention, and we will realize increases in our revenues as a result," said Tom Sterbenc, senior vice president of Sales, Cable & Wireless North America.

The solution is part of a broad operational change at Cable & Wireless. "We are rebuilding our operations to be more responsive to our customers, and Siebel is a cornerstone of our strategy," said Gian Dilawari, vice president of Information Technology, Cable & Wireless North America.
