London, U.K., July 23, 2001 – Accenture and Kalido Ltd. (Kalido), today announced an alliance which aims to assist multi-national companies successfully integrate and manage their global business information. Accenture is one of the world’s leading providers of management and technology consulting services. Kalido is a provider of information integration software, which aims to help organizations gain strategic insight into their worldwide business operations. Kalido addresses the problems typically associated with integrating information locked in dispersed transaction systems, without the risks normally associated with large-scale integration projects. As part of this alliance, Accenture has taken an equity position in Kalido.
Executives at all levels are struggling to make sense of the enormous and disparate amounts of data housed in different systems within their organizations. Most current information integration systems are not flexible and therefore not conducive to dynamic global business. As a result, business information is irrelevant and outdated by the time it gets analyzed. The Kalido and Accenture alliance will allow corporations to better resolve this problem by:
Increasing capability to analyze data in tandem with changes in business and without additional development
- Enhancing transparency by enabling a single, comparable view of disparate information across the organization (Finance, CRM, Marketing etc.)
“Our clients are increasingly relying on business intelligence and data warehousing solutions to achieve and maintain a competitive edge,” said Stewart Clements, partner in Accenture’s Finance and Performance Management service line. “They are interested in solutions to improve management information flow and its integration across disparate solutions within the organization. We hope to help our clients resolve these tough issues with the help of Kalido’s products that can seamlessly integrate operational and business information while ensuring data consistency.”
Accenture’s Finance and Performance Management service line (F& PM) works with the finance organizations of major corporate enterprises to help them improve shareholder value through effective information for decision making and business analysis.
According to Andy Hayler, CEO of Kalido Ltd.,” The biggest challenge for a software company like ours is to move beyond an alliance with a systems integrator. We aim to help clients with their larger business issues. By teaming with a top-flight consultancy such as Accenture we are able to provide truly innovative solutions to meet the information integration needs of our customers and help them gain an edge over their competitors.”
Recently, DM Review honored KALIDO with the 2001 World Class Solution Award for Data Warehouse Administration, Design, Management and Performance. In addition, KALIDO was also awarded, Information Management’s “Best Data Warehousing Project of the Year 2000” for a project in Shell Oil Products (Shell). This was a strategic European-wide project that was worked on by a Kalido-Accenture team, and is a testament to the leading-edge benefits of the alliance.
Under the terms of the alliance agreement, Accenture and Kalido have formed a joint management team that will identify, pursue and refer to each other business opportunities where appropriate and where both their business solutions and integration services will be employed.
