NEW YORK and ST LOUIS, November 2, 2000 – Accenture* and Amdocs Limited today announced a global alliance to bring communications and Internet service providers the integrated billing and customer care solutions they need to meet their own customers’ growing service demands in an increasingly sophisticated network environment
Leveraging the complementary strengths of the two organizations, the new alliance brings together Accenture’s leading global management and technology capabilities and Amdocs’ leading billing and customer care solutions to the communications and IP market. "By teaming up with Accenture, one of the world’s leading management and technology consulting organizations, we have formed an alliance that will offer service providers a level and breadth of business solution capabilities never before available in the communications and IP arena," said Avi Naor, chief executive officer of Amdocs Management Limited. "The alliance will offer customers access to innovative solutions to help them increase speed-to-market with reduced risk."
The two companies are teaming up to deliver billing and CRM solutions covering the entire scope of billing, customer care, and order management operations for communications providers that offer services on enhanced Internet Protocol (IP) and other voice and data networks. The alliance will help customers manage existing services and smoothly integrate new lines of business.
"We are combining the global reach and experience of Accenture and Amdocs to broaden the scope of existing offerings and provide customers with comprehensive solutions that meet both strategic business and infrastructure requirements," said Bill Green, managing partner, Communications & High Tech, Accenture. "We are now ideally positioned to help communications and Internet service providers move first, innovate and lead in their dynamic, highly competitive markets."
"This alliance was driven by the increased demand for larger, more robust CRM and billing solutions fueled by the convergence of IP, wireline and wireless," said Amdocs Senior Vice President, Eli Gelman. "It also is a natural fit for Amdocs. The two organizations share a customer-focused strategy and the ability to work closely in long-term relationships with customers. We believe this alliance will further deepen and strengthen the relationships both companies have always fostered with customers."
Players in the fiercely competitive communications industry face the dual challenge of increased customer demands for better service, and the need to speed new services to market in an increasingly sophisticated network environment. These companies are in turn demanding new levels of service, information and support from their solution providers.
The alliance will establish rapid deployment capabilities to meet the needs of new market entrants and leverage a global network of communications and CRM Solution Centers to reduce time-to-market and support solution delivery on a global scale. The companies will also combine resources on system implementation and integration tasks.
As part of the agreement, the companies will cooperate closely on marketing and sales, creating opportunities for expanded growth, new customer relationships and joint industry initiatives.
The new alliance will deliver comprehensive software solutions for the entire customer care, billing and order management operations of a communications carrier. This includes customer care solutions that cover customer service, sales/marketing, commission management, churn management, campaign planning, and retail management. It also includes ordering and provisioning solutions to manage service negotiation, delivery management, and delivery of wireless and data network services as well as billing solutions for new customer registration, event acquisition and formatting, rating, error and fraud management, invoicing, revenue management and inter-carrier settlement.
"This alliance will provide the comprehensive, integrated solutions communications and Internet service providers are looking for to minimize risk as they undertake increasingly complex, mission-critical CRM and billing projects for emerging broadband and hybrid networks," said Accenture CRM Managing Partner, Dale Raaen. "Amdocs has managed to build an integrated solution with sales and marketing, customer care, order management, and billing -- designed specifically around a common customer and product database. This is the seamless integration that carriers have been seeking for years."
