Accenture Acquires Digiplug S.A.S. to Serve the Media, Entertainment and Communications Industries

Acquisition will accelerate Accenture’s digital media capabilities

Accenture Digital Media Services launched to help clients transform how they store, manufacture, distribute, track and exploit digital content

NEW YORK; March 12, 2007 – Accenture (NYSE:ACN) today announced that it acquired Digiplug S.A.S., a Paris-based leader in outsourced mobile-content repurposing and distribution services to the music and communications industries, from Faith Inc. of Kyoto, Japan. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Digiplug (www.digiplug.com), based in France and founded in 1998, currently supplies music and video manufacturing and delivery services to major music labels as well as wireless carriers and mobile terminal device manufacturers around the world. The addition of Digiplug’s expertise in digital content distribution will build on Accenture’s leadership in digital media solutions with a recognized, ready-to-market suite of technology and business services currently in use within the industry.

Accenture also introduced Accenture Digital Media Services, which together with Digiplug’s existing services will provide a comprehensive solution set to leading content owners and distributors helping them adapt their organizations’ business processes and systems to stay ahead of the explosive demand for digital content and services.

“The revolution in digital media is creating both immediate challenges and exciting opportunities,” said Greg Douglass, global managing director of Accenture’s media and entertainment practice. “Digiplug will enhance our ability to help clients transform themselves for the new digital world.

“Clients today require sophisticated distribution capabilities with the ability to create new product bundles and content offerings which in turn will generate new revenue streams. Digiplug is a market leader and we are delighted to have them become a part of Accenture.”

Industry analysts have predicted that the mobile content and services industry will grow by almost 70 percent over the next 5 years to more than $150 billion.

According to Douglass, the acquisition of Digiplug is the first step in a larger effort to further strengthen and build Accenture Digital Media Services to provide a market-leading, comprehensive suite of digital content services that are scalable globally.

Accenture Digital Media Services will focus on helping companies that produce and distribute rich media content to optimize how they store, manufacture, distribute, track and exploit digital content while providing a consistent and personalized consumer experience.

“We’re really looking forward to combining our business with Accenture’s consulting, technology and outsourcing business,” said Boris Lacroix, Chief Executive Officer of Digiplug. “Together we will help our clients make a significant impact in the digital arena as we strongly believe that this acquisition will enable us to become the pre-eminent provider for companies seeking to be the high performers of the digital media world.”
