Everest Group Names Accenture a Leader and Star Performer in Healthcare Payer IT Services Landscape 2016 PEAK Matrix™ Assessment
CHICAGO; Jan. 25, 2017 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named a leader and star performer in the healthcare payer IT services-service provider landscape in a recent report from Everest Group.
The Everest Group report – Healthcare Payer IT Services – Service Provider Landscape with PEAK Matrix™ Assessment 2016 – recognized Accenture’s commitment to delivering strong IT services for healthcare payers. Accenture was positioned within the leader category, achieving the highest placement across the market-success axis, and was recognized as a star performer, based on positive year-over-year movement on the PEAK Matrix.
Accenture is commended for its “strong strategic focus with large payers” and “taking a digital transformation-led approach in line with the payer consumerization mandate.” The report recognizes Accenture for its significant expertise in executing small and large-scale deals; its strong suite and continued investment in next-generation and point-specific technology solutions; and its balanced portfolio of application, infrastructure and consulting services that keep pace with market dynamics globally. The report states that this “…aligns well with the payer-provider convergence wave, given the focus on analytics-driven solutions for health systems.”
Kaveh Safavi, M.D., J.D., senior managing director of Accenture’s global healthcare business, said, “By continuing to invest in innovation and market growth, our payer IT services are leading the market, positioned ahead of nearly two dozen competitors. Accenture saw the highest number of deal transactions of any service provider, which is the result of our ability to enable payers to use technology and analytics in ways that increase productivity, improve member experience and enhance business outcomes for the long run.”
The report evaluated 22 healthcare payer IT service providers on four areas: performance, experience, ability and knowledge (PEAK). Service providers were then positioned on the PEAK Matrix based on the evaluation of two key dimensions: market success and delivery capability. Accenture landed among those receiving the highest designation.
“Payers are undergoing structural changes, as their fundamental operating model shifts from business to consumer and they come to terms with the new normal,” said Abhishek Singh, practice director, Everest Group. “Payers are increasingly looking for service providers who can provide predictability of costs and business outcomes through integrated technology and operations. Service providers need to meaningfully differentiate on the basis of their domain-centric solutions but also their ability to ensure cost takeout and business transformation.”
