Accenture Wins a Prime Position on USDA Shared Services Blanket Purchase Agreement

ARLINGTON, Va.; Dec. 20, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded Accenture Federal Services (AFS) a prime position on its Shared Services Lines of Business Solutions (SSLoBS) blanket purchase agreement (BPA), making AFS one of nine firms eligible to compete for work under the five-year BPA, which has a total estimated value of US$500 million.

The goal of the BPA is to help the USDA’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) spur innovation in shared services. The OCFO’s payroll, human resources and financial management shared-services offerings are designed to eliminate time-consuming transactional functions, giving agencies more time to perform core mission activities.

The BPA will encompass work in financial management, human resources and information technology services, along with external systems development and personnel and pay services. The solutions developed under the BPA will be offered to USDA’s customers government-wide, enabling all agency customers to use the most efficient and effective financial and human capital management strategies for their organization.

"This award represents the USDA’s confidence in our ability to enable its long-term success, including modernizing and consolidating the agency’s five lines of business solutions,” said Elaine Beeman, who leads Accenture Federal Services’ work with civilian agencies. "We stand ready to develop new ground-breaking solutions that solve the agency’s business challenges and offer new platforms to its shared-services customers across the federal government.”

With this award, AFS continues to build on a long-standing partnership and successful track record of continuous delivery with the USDA. As the original system architect for the Financial Management Modernization Initiative (FMMI) in 2007, AFS now supports more than two dozen USDA agencies and offices with shared services solutions. In 2011, AFS expanded FMMI to include support for ezFedGrants, the USDA’s grants-management solution.
