Accenture Opens Applications for Accenture ConsumerTech Awards

Start-ups with innovative digital solutions that connect consumer-facing industries with millennials should apply

NEW YORK; Jan. 17, 2017 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today opened nominations for the Accenture ConsumerTech Awards, which recognize start-ups that are enhancing the way organizations engage with millennials – with a focus on excellence in customer experience and personalization and on innovative ways to increase sales revenue, improve product sourcing and delivery, and help to enable a more digital workforce.

Accenture invites emerging brands and organizations that have built innovative marketing tools and ecommerce platforms, as well as other consumer technology start-ups, to apply. Applicants can enter at https://www.f6s.com/accentureconsumertechawardsnyc/apply until Feb. 10.

Selected finalists will present on Feb. 28 in New York to an exclusive panel of judges comprised of senior executives from globally recognized brands, established thought-leaders and financial investors in the industry. The winners will be announced on March 2 at the Millennial 20/20 summit in New York, at which Accenture is the title sponsor. In addition to receiving their award, winners will be given access to a team of industry experts at Accenture to obtain advice and consultation on how to improve select areas of their business and gain access to clients.

“By 2018, millennials – a group that’s more connected, informed and demanding than any other – will represent a quarter of the global population, with spending power greater than that of any other generation,” said Teo Correia, a senior managing director at Accenture. “The abundance of data available at their fingertips, combined with their connectivity, has contributed to their ever-rising expectations. Innovation is key to driving the connection for brands across the consumer-facing industries, including the consumer goods, travel, automotive and retail sectors. Following the success of previous awards, we look forward to finding new and innovative entrepreneurs and nurturing the impact they can have on consumer sectors as they evolve.”

The four categories in the Accenture ConsumerTech Awards are:

Millennial Shopper

Millennial Consumer

Millennial Traveller

Millennial Driver

The awards are open to start-ups and emerging companies that meet at least one of the following criteria: are less than three years old; are angel- or venture-funded; are pre-revenue; or in beta product phase. There are no geographic restrictions.

To be held March 1 and 2 at 415 Fifth Avenue in New York, the summit will see the gathering of more than 4,000 start-ups, brands, retailers and corporate businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from more than 200 world-class speakers, visit 60 experiential exhibitors, attend eight live immersive showcases, and participate in a series of networking opportunities.

Millennial 20/20 is the world’s first millennial summit focused on understanding the millennial-driven changing consumer marketplace. Bringing together thought leaders from emerging and established brands across various sectors, the summit will provide brands with the insights needed to effectively engage with the millennial mindset of today’s consumer.
