Accenture Recognized for Leadership in Cloud Services by Clients and Industry Analysts in New Reports



Accenture positioned as a leader in IDC MarketScape and Everest Group PEAK Matrix™ reports


NEW YORK; May 9, 2016 – Industry analysts and clients have distinguished Accenture (NYSE: ACN) as a cloud industry leader in the As-a-Service economy. Recent IDC MarketScape and Everest Group PEAK Matrix™ reports recognized Accenture as a leader of worldwide cloud professional services and SaaS implementation services, respectively, distinguishing the company’s strategy and capabilities in the cloud market.

In naming Accenture a leader, the “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Cloud Professional Services 2016 Vendor Assessment” (doc #US40149616, April 2016) recognized Accenture’s successful strategy in scaling and integrating its existing services, as well as developing new services, to adapt to buyers’ preferences around industry-specific or horizontal stacks. The IDC MarketScape rated Accenture highly in terms of its employee strategy, alignment of its pricing model with future market direction, as well as the range of its cloud services portfolio.

The IDC MarketScape report evaluated 17 cloud professional services providers and recognized Accenture as a leader in both the capabilities and strategies facets of the report—the two primary categories measured and used for placement on the IDC MarketScape graphic. The IDC MarketScape report is based on a comprehensive and rigorous framework that assessed both quantitative and qualitative characteristics of a vendor’s current capabilities and menu of services, how well aligned they are with customer needs, and how well aligned a vendor’s future strategy is with what customers will require in three to five years.

Accenture has also been positioned in the leading position in the inaugural Everest Group PEAK Matrix report focusing on Software as a Service (SaaS) implementation services, which profiled ten leading IT service providers. The PEAK Matrix is a framework to assess the relative market success and overall capability of service providers based on Performance, Experience, Ability and Knowledge (PEAK) in an industry.

In the Matrix, Accenture has been strongly positioned as the overall leader—coming out on top in both Market Success and Delivery Capability. The report highlighted Accenture’s consulting-led approach, design capabilities, mature portfolio of offerings, global delivery capability, and strong internal and collaborative IP help to win large transformation deals, further differentiating it from competition in the marketplace.
