Accenture Opens Future Camp to Help Clients Take Advantage of Innovative Concepts to Drive Business Results

New Accenture Liquid Studio created within Future Camp for rapid prototyping of applications

KRONBERG, Germany; Sept. 16, 2016 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has opened Future Camp, a new space dedicated to promoting digital innovation, design thinking and innovative concepts that can deliver tangible business results through rapid prototyping and liquid development. At Future Camp, which is located in Kronberg, Germany, clients, Accenture experts, technology providers and startups can all work together to share, develop and test ideas for digital innovation. Accenture has also launched a new Liquid Studio as part of Future Camp.

Frank Riemensperger, country managing director of Accenture Germany, said: “At Future Camp, we offer clients a unique environment for the creative exchange of ideas, plus technologies they can put their hands on, and the chance to envision scenarios for the digital offerings of the future. It’s a place where we meet to co-create, where new digital products, services and business models are designed as a result of ecosystem partners collaborating with one another.”

Design Thinking Workshops
A primary focus at Future Camp is to conduct design thinking workshops in which companies consider their business, a technology or a problem through the eyes of the customer and user. In these workshops, they learn about the needs of customers, which lead to new ideas, prototypes, and eventually new digital products and services. These prototypes can be tested quickly and developed further. The portfolio of workshop topics range from strategy and product development to client training sessions in design thinking.

Sigrid Stinnes, who leads the Innovation Network and Future Camp, and is responsible for Design Thinking at Accenture in Germany, said, “Design Thinking helps us to be more creative and innovative when approaching the problems of our clients and showing them the possibilities of digitization. The workshops that we offer in Future Camp help our clients develop user-centric ideas, service models and products, using new technologies such as augmented and virtual reality.”

Riemensperger added, “Digitization accelerates the speed at which companies must act. Clients expect that the changes brought on by digitization over the next few years will be even faster and more profound than ever. At Accenture Future Camp, we help clients get to the place where ideas are no longer theory but actual prototypes.”

Turning ideas into prototypes
Future Camp specializes in rapid prototyping of digital services and applications. Within just a few weeks or even days, software developers, 3D artists and gamification experts turn ideas from workshops into actual prototypes. This is accomplished through the new Liquid Studio located within Future Camp, where clients work side-by-side with Accenture software engineers to prototype and develop a wide range of custom applications using cloud infrastructure and platforms, rapid application development principles such as Agile and DevOps, intelligent automation, lightweight frameworks and plug-and-play, microservice-based architectures.

Accenture also applies advanced analytics to the innovation and rapid prototyping process to address business issues and identify opportunities. Accenture Analytics, part of Accenture Digital, will provide clients with data-driven insights on future events, changing conditions, customer demands and new services, giving them a competitive advantage.

Innovation at Accenture
With Future Camp, Accenture is expanding its services in Germany in the area of digital innovation. Current services include the Accenture Digital Acceleration Center in Bonn, which was opened one year ago, and the Fjord Studio in Berlin, part of the design and innovation consultancy from Accenture Interactive.
