Accenture Interactive Creative Leaders Selected as Jury Members for 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

Two leading female creative minds to represent Accenture in judging the Mobile and Digital Craft Lions

NEW YORK; June 1, 2016 – Accenture Interactive, part of Accenture Digital, announced that the Cannes Lions has named two of its creative leaders – Emma Carpenter and Yaprak G ü ltay – jury members for the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, taking place June 18-25. Cannes Lions is an eight-day program of creative inspiration, celebration, education and networking, attracting approximately 15,000 delegates from 100 countries.

Cannes Lions judges are senior creative professionals “recognized for their achievements, valued for their vision, admired for their passion and trusted for their integrity.” The 2016 juries, selected from 40 countries, comprise 40% women – a record number for the Festival.

Emma Carpenter, Creative Director, Accenture Interactive | South Africa
Carpenter will judge the Mobile Lions, which recognize device-driven creativity. She is one of nine South African jurors. Carpenter brings design thinking to large business transformation projects. Inspired by the blend of experience, technology and beautiful work that produces measurable results, she collaborates with strategists and designers to define and deliver on the needs of users and adheres to the principle that all design should be empathetic, relevant and intuitive. Carpenter has garnered creative recognition from notable awards competitions, including The Webby Awards, The Bookmarks, The Loerie Awards and The Smarties.

Yaprak Gültay, Service Design Lead at Fjord, Design and Innovation from Accenture Interactive | Turkey
Gültay will serve as a jury member for the Digital Craft Lions – a new category for 2016 – that recognizes technological artistry, impeccable design, masterful execution and outstanding user experience in digital environments. A recognized visual communications designer, Gültay is a service design lead for Fjord’s Istanbul studio. She is one of four judges representing Turkey at Cannes. Her approach blends design thinking and service design methodologies to bring human-centric digital experiences to life. She is a hands-on designer, a driver of creative thought leadership and has been a creative force behind the work for notable clients, including Hilton Honors, IKEA, Kraft Foods, Nike and Sony Playstation.
