ASM Research Awarded US$300 Million Contract to Help Strengthen VA IT System Security
FAIRFAX, Va.; July 13, 2015 – ASM Research (ASM), an Accenture Federal Services Company, has been awarded a US$300 million contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support the Continuous Readiness in Information Security Program (CRISP), which is designed to reduce information security risks across VA programs and systems. The contract has a one-year base period with three one-year options.
Under the terms of the contract, ASM will:
- Improve communication and coordination between IT teams across the VA;
- Help the VA identify and address existing security vulnerabilities and weaknesses;
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support VA contingency plans to address potential security threats;
- Provide operational infrastructure enhancements under the VA’s direction; and
- Support the VA’s efforts to accelerate compliance with privacy and security regulations.
ASM will not be responsible for or have access to personally identifiable information.

ASM is also working with the VA to support the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), an award-winning system that is modernizing the clinical infrastructure and experience for VA clinicians, veterans and their families. VistA provides an integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic health record to help strengthen and expand veteran healthcare services.
