Accenture Wins Research and Development Contract from U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center

$17.2 million contract to develop command and control, information exchange services for warfighters

RESTON, Va; June 29, 2011-- The U.S. Air Force’s Electronic Systems Center Capabilities Integration Directorate (ESC/XR) has awarded Accenture (NYSE: ACN) a 24 -month, $17.2 million contract to conduct risk reduction and prototyping for advanced command and control services. The engagement focuses on developing advanced decision support services, information exchange and system interoperability. Prototype solutions will be designed to improve decision making in the command and control process and assist with risk reduction for the warfighter.

Through Internet-based technology, the Accenture engagement will shorten the time needed to develop new modeling programs. The resulting systems will provide the U.S. Air Force with improved information management systems that supply commanders with the data needed for advanced planning and smarter decisions regarding battle management and war gaming.

The Air Force operations are based out of Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. Work will be performed at Accenture’s locations in King of Prussia, PA; Camden, NJ; and Joplin, MO.

This contract award is the most recent win in a string of successful projects that highlightAccenture’s work for the Department of Defense and Accenture’s work for the U.S. Air Force.
