Idaho Benefits and Eligibility System Launched with Accenture’s Support
BOISE, Idaho; Feb. 23, 2010 – Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare has successfully replaced its outdated human service benefits eligibility system with the support of Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
The new Idaho Benefit and Eligibility System (IBES) has replaced a 30-year-old eligibility system that could not be updated to accommodate new requirements nor support efficient administration of the state’s health and human service programs. Idaho’s new system is designed to enable easy updates when policy and operational requirements change, and to facilitate a more streamlined benefits interview process that will help the state handle increasing caseloads more efficiently.
“Idaho citizens relying on benefit programs will receive accurate benefits in a timely manner, and Idaho taxpayers are well served as this is the lowest cost implementation of an eligibility system in the U.S. in the last 20 years,” according to Russ Barron, Administrator of the Division of Welfare in Idaho’s Department of Health & Welfare.
