Accenture Opens Cyber Security 'Threat Analysis Center' in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO; March 2, 2010 – Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has opened a threat analysis center in San Antonio, Texas, in response to growing demand for data-centric security services, specifically trusted application (software) development and delivery, malware analysis, Internet Protocol version 6 security, and security code reviews.

The new center enhances cyber security services that Accenture has long provided to help government and commercial clients reduce the risk of cyber disruptions, protect against threats of data theft or manipulation, and address requirements for trusted software applications. The company also plans to use the center to provide clients with assistance in areas such as technology infrastructure, identity management, malware analysis, cyber forensics, mission resilience, business continuity, and Federal Desktop Core Configuration compliance.

The Accenture Threat Analysis Center is designed to help federal, state and local government and commercial clients achieve regulatory compliance, protect data, and make informed decisions that translate into timely action to address cyber threats.

“In this era of elusive and determined cyber adversaries, information technology systems need to be trusted, secure and flexible enough to combat threats in an increasingly hostile environment while maintaining their functional requirements,” said Henry (Bud) Horton, chief technology officer of Accenture’s cyber security practice. “We provide the technology and business process knowledge to help our clients rise to the cyber security challenge.”

Lance Grether, director of Accenture’s San Antonio Delivery Center, said, “In San Antonio, we are capitalizing on a highly skilled workforce to deliver cyber security services that help meet the growing requirements of government agencies as well as of businesses.”.
