Leading Analyst Firm Names Accenture Among Worldwide Market Share Leaders in the Telecommunications Software Management Systems (TOMS) Marketplace in 2006-2008

Accenture named revenue and market share leaders in online care and self service, service delivery platform, and data processing and hosting solutions

NEW YORK, July 14, 2009 -- Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced that top independent analyst firm Gartner, Inc. has recognized Accenture as a worldwide 2008 market share leader in three critical solution categories, as reported in its Telecommunications Software Management Systems (TOMS) market share 2006-2008 study (source: Gartner, Inc. "Market Share: Telecom Operations Management Systems (BSS, OSS and SDP), Worldwide, 2006-2008" by Martina Kurth et al., 5 May 2009). Gartner’s TOMS study ranks the top 50 telecom operations management system vendors worldwide.

The Gartner report ranked Accenture first in market share for Online Care and Self-Service (13.6 percent), Next Generation Service Delivery Platform (SDP) (6.9 percent) – the second year in a row that Accenture was ranked first in next generation SDP -- and Data Processing and Hosting (21.9 percent).

Self-service enables cost reduction and is one of the industry’s fastest-growing customer relationship management tools. SDP, which delivers a common way to create, provision, and execute multiple service types across different types of networks, and data center operations processing and hosting, are also key technology consulting capabilities that Accenture provides.

Fueling technological growth through innovation, Accenture’s award-winning SDP solution utilizes Web 2.0 technology to promote the ultimate open and collaborative environment for providing the infrastructure and common business functions that can drive high performance. It helps providers to create, deliver and manage a wide range of products and services for consumers and enterprises more quickly, and at lower cost and risk. This solution, combined with Accenture’s Online Care and Self-Service and Data Processing and Hosting solutions provide the foundation for companies looking to build an efficient, profitable and customer centric consumer delivery platform.

“Our constant drive for innovation and our customer-focused approach has attracted communications and high tech service providers around the world,” said Angelo Morelli, an executive director at Accenture, responsible for the company’s offerings and work involving new product development and innovation for communications, high tech, and media clients globally. “By embracing collaborative, open platform next generation technologies such as Web 2.0, we believe that will continue to shape the industry for years to come.”
