Accenture’s Delivery Centers in India Receive Certification for Business Continuity from British Standards Institute (BSI)
First British Standard 25999 Certificate Issued by BSI in Asia
BANGALORE, India; June 10, 2008 — Accenture’s delivery centers for technology and business process outsourcing in India have been awarded the British Standards Institute’s (BSI) BS25999-2:2007 certification for business continuity.
The only international standard that provides a truly independent assessment of an organization’s business continuity, BS25999-2:2007 is designed to help companies develop and implement a robust business continuity plan. The BSI certification standard has been designed to enable companies to continue operating under the most challenging and unexpected circumstances or disasters.
The certification covers Accenture’s systems integration, application outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing and business process outsourcing services in India delivered from its 13 delivery centers in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.

BS25999 is the industry standard for business continuity management system (BCMS), a management process that identifies potential threats to an organization and the impacts to business operations that those threats, if realized, might cause. It also provides a framework for building organizational resilience with the capability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of a company’s key stakeholders, reputation, brand and business.
