Wana Selects Accenture, Telcordia to Drive its Next-Generation Network

NEW YORK, NY and PISCATAWAY, NJ; May 22, 2007 – Wana, a primary telecommunications service provider in Morocco, has selected Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Telcordia (www.telcordia.com) to provide a fulfillment solution designed to support its innovative next-generation, converged network infrastructure. Accenture and Telcordia will help Wana gain efficiencies in key areas and processes of its business, including operations, engineering, information technology, marketing and sales.

Wana provides telecommunications services — including voice, Internet access and Virtual Private Network (VPN) — over its multi-technology access network, which uses CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), wireless local loop and fiber. Focused on enabling Wana to provide competitively priced traditional and advanced services for residential and business customers, Accenture and Telcordia will help Wana deliver on its vision of allowing its subscribers to communicate how and when they want via a single converged IP network.

“As the country’s newest global operator, Wana is focused on providing simpler, more open access to telecom products in Morocco, delivering the latest innovations in products and services for telecommunications use,” said Fadhel Kraiem, executive vice president of Networks at Wana. “Telcordia and Accenture are helping to streamline our operations so that we can launch new services more rapidly and cost effectively while lowering the total cost of ownership of our next-generation network.”

As the lead integrator on the project, Accenture will provide application development support and help manage and align technology resources and solutions. In developing the solution, Accenture will use the Accenture Communications Solutions suite, which provides ready-to-use components within a common integration framework aligned with industry standards.

Wana is leveraging Accenture’s and Telcordia’s knowledge and experience in the operations support systems space to seamlessly integrate Telcordia’s market-leading suite of products including Telcordia® Granite Inventory, part of the Telcordia Fulfillment Suite, which will support all of Wana’s network infrastructure needs on a single platform.

“Wana has an ambitious converged network vision, and having a single view of its network means that it can make rapid business decisions, which will help support its bottom line,” said Jon Collins, regional vice president of Global Solutions for Telcordia’s Europe, Middle East and African region. “Telcordia’s deep industry knowledge, technical expertise and extensive wireless and broadband experience coupled with Accenture’s comprehensive understanding of the region and current business challenges will helping Wana deliver on its promise of giving subscribers access to the advanced communications services they need at a price they can afford.”

“Through our strategic alliance with Telcordia we are helping telecom operators like Wana drive their business strategy to transform their network infrastructure and service delivery capabilities,” said Gilles Bretaudeau, a senior executive in Accenture’s Communications & High Tech operating group. “The engagement aligns Wana’s mission to deliver sophisticated telecommunications services by investing in the development of its next-generation, converged network infrastructure.”
