Fireman’s Fund Adopts Accenture’s Claims Processing Technology
NEW YORK and NOVATO, Calif.; Feb. 5, 2007 – Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company has selected Accenture (NYSE: ACN) technology for processing its insurance claims. The companies will jointly implement the newly upgraded technology solution to handle all claims submitted to Fireman’s Fund® under its commercial, personal and specialty lines.
“We believe a high-performing claims system is one of the critical paths to customer satisfaction, growth and profitability,” said Paul Stachura, chief claims officer, Fireman’s Fund. “We chose this technology for its scalability and innovative design as well as its track record in the industry.”
The Accenture Claim Components Solution is a Web-based technology designed to help insurers improve the efficiency of their claims-handling operations through the automation of routine tasks. At Fireman’s Fund, the solution supports core claims transactions from first notification of loss through closure of the claim. It integrates with a full range of claims interfaces.
“Claims processing represents the single largest operating cost for property and casualty insurers,” said Michael A. Lucarini, senior executive and global head of Accenture’s claims solutions. “It is an area where insurers are often able to improve their efficiencies significantly and meaningfully differentiate themselves in the market.”
This latest version of the software includes an enhanced user interface and dynamic question and answer architecture, Web services framework, and Microsoft .NET 2.0 technology. Accenture Claim Components Solution currently helps process approximately one-third of all property and casualty insurance claims in the United States.
