Former Defense Logistics Agency Director Vice Adm. Lippert Joins Accenture’s Defense Team

RESTON, Va.; Dec. 11, 2006 – Vice Adm. Keith W. Lippert has joined Accenture’s Defense practice (NYSE: ACN) as managing director of strategy, after leading the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for the past five years. DLA is the Department of Defense’s largest combat support agency.

Vice Adm. Lippert has more than three decades of supply and logistics experience. As director of DLA, Lippert was responsible for providing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and other federal agencies with a variety of logistics, acquisition and technical services. Vice Adm. Lippert led DLA’s worldwide mission – which impacts some 23,000 civilian and military personnel – through significant transformation, modernizing DLA to better respond to unprecedented demands.

Before his DLA service, Vice Adm. Lippert held high-ranking positions at the Naval Supply Systems Command and was the Navy’s 41st chief of Supply Corps. Vice Adm. Lippert also served as commander of the Defense General Supply Center.

Among the awards Vice Adm. Lippert has received are the Defense Superior Service Medal, three Legion of Merits, four Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, the Navy Achievement Medal, and Submarine Supply Dolphins. He is the recipient of the Society of Logistics Engineers 1992 International Award for outstanding performance in financial management/inventory control.
