Aeroflot Engages Accenture for IT Review

MOSCOW; Sept. 12, 2006 – JSC "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines" and Accenture today announced they have successfully completed a review of Aeroflot’s information technology (IT) organization, processes and systems.

The project’s key objective was to align Aeroflot’s IT strategy with its overall business strategy, and it was the next phase in an effort that began in 2003, with a focus on Aeroflot’s infrastructure and organization. This second phase involved a capability assessment of major Aeroflot processes, business and application needs; evaluated the progress Aeroflot has made since 2003; and recommended business applications and IT services, as well as IT investments, that would deliver near term value to Aeroflot.

“This review allows us to evaluate the ability of our IT system to support our business,” said Sergey Kiryushin, chief information officer of Aeroflot. “Given the dramatic marketplace changes of the last few years, this information will help us understand the key strategic and tactical tasks we must undertake to maintain our leadership position in the Russian market.”

Aeroflot, whose goal is to become a world-class aircraft company, is seeking to improve its position in Russian civil aviation. Its IT strategy supports its alliances with other aircraft companies, its efforts to encourage travelers around the world consider its flights and its drive to provide passengers with a high level of service.
