Accenture Signs Five-Year Application Co-Sourcing Agreement with EnCana

Accenture to Support EnCana’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Environment

CALGARY, Alberta; May 8, 2006 – Accenture has signed a five-year application co-sourcing agreement with EnCana Corporation to transform support of EnCana’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The value of the agreement was not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Accenture will support and enhance the oil and gas company’s asset lifecycle management and human resource application environment, which are based on Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application suite.

Accenture will share responsibility for this core information technology (IT) function with EnCana, bringing the benefits of a well-tested application support methodology, deep J. D. Edwards expertise, and access to global resources to meet variable demand.

Accenture’s role in the agreement will allow EnCana to continue to focus on its core business operations, providing access to an experienced pool of skilled Accenture IT professionals and allowing EnCana to retain strategic control.

“By transforming ERP support, an organization like EnCana can improve the quality of service delivery while reducing administrative burdens,” said David Day, a senior executive in Accenture’s Resources practice in Canada. “We are pleased to earn EnCana’s trust as a key IT business partner.”

“This arrangement gives EnCana access to expertise and best practices from Accenture’s ERP support organization world-wide,” said Keith Robson, Director IT Solutions, EnCana Corporation. "Our IT sourcing strategy is to make maximum use of the marketplace, and we are pleased to have selected Accenture to provide this key service.”
